WxSim
wxSim simulator is the outcome of my doctoral research, which is about developing a realistic behavioral car-following model incorporating representative degree of variance that allows for “less-than-perfect” driving behaviors, variable reaction time, and randomness of the decision-making process, thereby generating different levels of crashing risk as occurred in reality.
wxSim has integrated the developed model. However, work is under way to integrate the model into other commercial simulators including AIMSUN and VISSIM,in order to enable them to emulate the occurrence of real-world accidents, thereby assessing safety countermeasures at high-fidelity microscopic level.
